Juliana moved from Colombia and graduated with a business degree from Boise State University. Shortly after graduating, she moved to Chicago. Anaxi moved to Chicago looking for a better future and started working as a dishwasher in a recognized Chicago restaurant. He worked his way up and learned cooking skills through informal classes and catering jobs.

When the two met, Anaxi was a part owner of a nightclub and was managing a banquet hall. At that point he had already owned and closed 2 restaurants. As he was managing the hall, he was requested to cater events at other venues and he obliged. After a year of this, Anaxi & Juliana founded Cocina Fusion. After a few years, Juliana left her job in the cellphone sales industry and decided to work full time at Cocina Fusion. By then they already had 2 girls.  Now they have 3 kids ;)

Cocina Fusion gained popularity through their menus based on cultural flavors and the food that they loved. Their passion led them to bring exceptional flavor to the tables of each event they served. Word of their amazing service, food, and passion quickly spread.

Anaxi and Juliana love traveling with their kids. While they do enjoy fine dining, their favorite foods are always from informal street carts & restaurants.
